| Since our original plan of having our wedding at
Corfe Castle couldn't be done, Peter and I visited many
different hotels in the area to find the perfect place to have our
ceremony. We finally chose the
Hotel Miramar as
the venue for both our wedding ceremony and reception.
The Miramar has a gorgeous room called the "Lounge" with a bay window at one end, that we absolutely fell in love with when we entered it. This is the room where we will have our ceremony. (Photos to come soon!) Many of the other places we looked, the ceremony rooms were very... 'blah', for lack of a better term. A lot of them seemed very small and 'closed in'. So the Lounge, that overlooks the Mirimar's gardens, was a welcome change!
During our search we both went more with 'gut instinct' - talking to
people, who did we feel comfortable with? Who did we feel would give us
the most and best service for our money? It's never been about budget
really, but just what we 'felt' was the best for us and our day. We felt
very comfortable with the staff at the Miramar, confident that they knew
what they were doing, and that they would help to make our dream day
perfect. David Bailey, the manager of the hotel, is absolutely
wonderful, and you can just tell by meeting and talking with him, that
weddings is something he truly loves to do.
If you are from out of the local area and will be attending the
wedding, the Miramar is holding 4 rooms for us for the night of the
wedding. If you would like to stay in one of these rooms, when you
contact the Miramar, make sure that you mention you are looking to book
one of the rooms set aside for our wedding.
